The Vanity Slums was a daily cartoon strip I penned while in college in the mid-nineties. It was an outlet for my awakening political interests and a mode in which to express my frustration with the personal, civic, and educational hypocrisies I was trying to deal with at the time. It first appeared in The Northern Star in the spring of 1993 and ran Monday - Friday until the fall of 1995.

A few years later, the idea of an animated series was hatched. Although a feature-length script was written, and a lot of new material created -- including a short graphic pitch book -- it seemed stuck on the page. Until now. Enjoy your visit to Vanity.
